Celebrated area organists Ann Stephenson-Moe, Cynthia Roberts-Greene and Richard Benedum perform a one-hour concert at lunchtime.

Ann Stephenson Moe has been organist and choirmaster at Church of the Redeemer in Sarasota for more than 40 years.  Ms. Stephenson Moe was also instrumental in the founding of Key Choral and Gloria Musicae in Sarasota.  For many years, she also served with organist Richard Benedum as artistic director of the annual Sarasota-Manatee Bach Festival.

In 2013 Ms. Stephenson Moe was invited to conduct the Cantata of Peace composed by her late husband, Daniel Moe, during the 12th International Festival of Sacred Music and Art in Vatican City before Pope Francis.

Dr. Richard P. Benedum is a professor emeritus of music at the University of Dayton. He taught for more than 30 years in the university’s Performing and Visual Arts Department and was also the chair of the Music Department twice. He has directed several National Endowment for the Humanities summer seminars and institutes in Vienna, Austria, where he covers in-depth explorations of the music of Mozart. His research interests include compositional process in Bach’s work and the operas and early bibliographical studies of Mozart. In 1990 Dr. Benedum wrote and produced a six-part series of programs for National Public Radio called Mozart: His Music and Letters. Dr. Benedum moved to Sarasota in 2006 and is the organist and choirmaster for Christ Church in Bradenton.

Cynthia Roberts-Green has been directing music and playing the organ at Siesta Key Chapel for nearly 20 years, composing music especially for the chapel on numerous occasions.  An established musician in the region since 1980, Ms. Roberts-Green has concertized throughout the west coast of Florida as organist, singer, conductor, arranger, and composer. She has served as music director and organist at Temple Emanu-El in Sarasota since 1996. Ms. Roberts-Green studied locally with Ann Stephenson-Moe before going on to earn her Master of Music Degree in organ from the Eastman School of Music.
