Acclaimed soprano Michelle Giglio and Chopin Project artist Matthew Graybil fête the 210th birthday of Frédéric Chopin with a selection of sparkling mazurkas and unusual chamber pieces penned by the legendary Polish composer. Joining them will be flutist Linda Bento-Rei and cellist Julia Tretyakova, both principal players with the Venice Symphony.
Soprano Michelle Giglio has enjoyed an illustrious career touring and recording in France and throughout Europe. She now lives and performs frequently in Sarasota. In the summer of 2018, she performed with the Sarasota Ballet at the Joyce Theater in New York, where she earned praise from the New York Times for “singing (Chopin) with beauty and elegance.”
Praised by The New Yorker as an “exceptional young artist” and by The Southampton Press as “hypnotic and compelling,” American pianist Matthew Graybil is an ideal interpreter of Chopin, an artist who, as Fanfare Magazine wrote, “becomes so at one with the [music] that the line between composer and performer vanishes.”
