Violinist Hyun Jae Lim was well on her way to an impressive solo career. A student at the revered Curtis Institute of Music, she had already been a prizewinner at the 2018 Yehudi Menuhin International Competition. In 2020, an accident left her seriously injured and unable to play the violin for the next four years. In 2024, she was finally able to pick up the instrument again and, through sheer grit and determination, resumed where she left off, winning First Prize in the Seoul International Music Competition (2025) and the Elmar Oliveira International Violin Competition (2026). For her ASC performance, she will be joined by Grammy-nominated pianist Robert Koenig in an inspiring program that includes works by Beethoven, Franck, Mozart, and Saint-Saëns.
