ASC’s season concludes with a luxurious program of music for cello and piano. Joseph Johnson, principal cellist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Santa Fe Opera, has been heard throughout the world as a soloist and chamber musician, with festival appearances at the American festivals of Santa Fe, Grand Teton, and Music in the Vineyards, as well as the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan, and the Virtuosi Festival in Brazil. He will be joined by pianist Chiao-Wen Cheng in a program that includes Prokofiev’s Sonata in C Major, Opus 119. Violinist Daniel Jordan joins in the fun with a delightful trio arrangement of music by George Gershwin – closing the concert, and the season, on a jubilant note.
