VOLUNTEERISM is defined as the policy or practice of performing a service willingly and without pay using one’s time or talents for charitable, educational, or other worthwhile activities, especially in the surrounding community.

ARTIST SERIES CONCERTS FRIENDS provides essential volunteer support to the activities and projects of Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota while offering its members a nurturing, rewarding and positive volunteer experience. FRIENDS provides both hands-on and financial support to the activities of Artists Series Concerts of Sarasota with particular emphasis on its scholarships, outreach programs and community arts collaborations.

In addition to the many support services volunteers provide to Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota, FRIENDS comes together to support with a major fundraising events. Historically, the proceeds from this event have supported ASC’s Annual Student Scholarship Competition. With increased success the funds now include support for ASC’s community outreach and other programming. Since beginning its fundraising in 2009, FRIENDS has raised over $450,000 to support Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota! Our annual fundraising event for the 2026-25 season will be an elegant Gala April 1, 2027 at Laurel Oak Country Club. More details to come!
